OKLAHOMA SHAKESPEARE PRESENTS

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) [REVISED] [AGAIN]; 37 plays, 97 minutes, 3 actors!

The cultural touchstone that is THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) was born when three inspired, charismatic comics, having honed their pass-the-hat act at Renaissance fairs, premiered their preposterous masterwork at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987.

It quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, earning the title of London’s longest-running comedy after a decade at the Criterion Theatre. THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) is one of the world’s most frequently produced plays and has been translated into several dozen languages. Featured are all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays, meant to be performed in 97 minutes, by three actors. Fast paced, witty, and physical, it’s full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike.

The original version was followed by the 2010 REVISED version, and this latest REVISED AGAIN version includes changes that celebrate and encourage greater diversity and inclusivity in today’s theater!

Oklahoma Shakespeare Artistic Associate and Oklahoma State University Assistant Professor of Performance, David Weber, directs this joyous and raucous production featuring the hilarious comic stylings of Kris Kuss, Holly McNatt, & M. Smith Fraser.

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) [REVISED] [AGAIN] is produced by special arrangement with Broadway Play Publishing Inc, NYC www.broadwayplaypublishing.com

DIRECTOR’S NOTE

2025 Welcome to challenge, the event - an attempt to do all of Shakespeare’s Cannon in less than 2 hours. If we complete this task, making the impossible possible, and we do it with aplomb, what will you give us? At the very least, we hope a warm hand on our big opening. ;) Thank you to our board and regulars for making this place so special to come to work. This is my fourth project at Oklahoma Shakespeare, and my 1st as director. Working with Oklahoma Shakespeare is an embarrassment of riches, I get to work with some of the finest performers and designers in the country. I first saw this show at the Atlanta Shakespeare Company in 2009 where I was both an artistic associate and education artist. I've seen multiple casts take this project on. I've directed it at Stagedoor Manor in Loch Sheldrake, NY, and this cast is better than any I've come across. I expect you are in for a treat - and if you are as entertained as I think you will be, please tell all the people in your universe, share on your socials, tell your coworkers to come out and see this incredible cast. If you do not share this sentiment, please keep your opinions to yourself. Holly, Kris, and M., you are the bees knees - you make creating theatre fun! Tyler Woods, thank you for your cheerleading and tireless work behind the scenes to make Oklahoma Shakespeare the best ticket in town or in the region. If you are a theatre student, keep saying “yes” to your dream. If this is your first play going experience, “You are in for a treat!” Last but not least, thank you to the donors, the patrons, you the audience, the proverbial butts in seats - your booty makes the duty worthy.

Love and Light, Dave Weber
