Hello and Happy Fall!

It is with great joy that I write to you in the final months of our 40th anniversary season at Oklahoma Shakespeare! We are so excited about the milestones conquered this year and I look forward to our fifth decade as your new Executive & Artistic Director!

Since 1985, Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park has been Oklahoma’s Classical Theatre, leading the way with innovative educational access to the classical arts, and providing new and interesting interpretations of these monumental works of art for patrons across the state.

As this is our 40th year, we think it is appropriate to set a goal of $40,000 for our annual fund drive, an amount that would be transformative for our organization. Each year, we offer free and heavily discounted educational outreach opportunities to students across the state, and we strive to pay artists & technicians fair & equitable wages to retain their talent within Oklahoma. We can only do this with your support.

We pride ourselves on the ability to make every dollar stretch as far as possible, and in our quality work that reflects the support you provide. Please consider donating this fall to support Oklahoma’s only theatre dedicated to the annual production of classical theatre in Oklahoma. Our artists & volunteers are depending upon you to help us rise to our 41st year!

We look forward to seeing you at the theatre in the coming months, and we hope the holiday season brings with it the warmth and joy of family, friends, and hope for a prosperous new year!

We wish you and yours a warm and wonderful fall!

Sincerely,

Tyler Woods, Executive & Artistic Director

What we can do with your support…

$25 Donation | With a gift of $25, Oklahoma Shakespeare can do more than you think! Every dollar is carefully managed, and often, a gift of $25 can buy a crown for King Henry, rent a sword for Prince Hamlet, or create a ring of flowers for Titania, Queen of the Fairies!

$50 Donation | $50 provides important resources such as costume rental and maintenance. A gift of this amount will outfit Benedick and Beatrice in their never-ending battle of wits and provide a beautiful wedding dress for Hero to marry Claudio.

$100 Donation | Recreating a Shakespearean setting can be time-consuming and expensive. We make every effort to conserve our expenses and do more with less, and a gift of $100 will buy a lot of lumber, screws, and glue to piece together the land of Illyria, or Prospero's famous island home.

$250 Donation | All the world's a stage, and that stage takes an army to fill it. Did you know that many of our productions employ more people backstage than on stage? With $250, Oklahoma Shakespeare can provide technical support for our performers, renting and purchasing lights for Elsinore castle, or eerie sounds for the haunted heaths of Scotland.

$500 Donation | Wow! You are thinking like a champion! A gift of $500 will support our creative team and might just help pay the electric bill, to boot!

$1000 Donation | A gift fit for a king! A donation of $1000 allows the staff of Oklahoma Shakespeare to expand our operations, purchase new equipment and services, and to focus on the things that are important - our mission to educate and entertain!

Any Amount | Any amount you can give is vital! From $1 - $1000, your contribution is essential to our operations. Did you know that ticket sales only account for a portion of the cost to operate a nonprofit theatre? We like to say that your ticket purchase pays for Act I, and your donations pay for Act II. So, remember, the show must go on...but only with your help!
