OKLAHOMA SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK ANNOUNCES CASTING FOR "MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING" by William Shakespeare

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 27, 2023 (Oklahoma City, OK)—Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park announces casting for Shakespeare's delightful comedy, "Much Ado About Nothing which runs June 8th-18th  in the company’s new outdoor theater, the Shakespeare Gardens, located at 2920 Paseo, Oklahoma City, OK 73103. The production is directed by Kathryn McGill. Tickets are on sale on the website www.okshakes.org

Claudio is pursuing the hand of the lovely young Hero. Meanwhile, Beatrice and Benedick want nothing of love. Beatrice and Benedick’s verbal jousts are witty and sharp, each one calculated to wound. Yet, beneath their animosity lies a mutual attraction that neither dares confess —until circumstances force them to admit their true love. Filled with romance, intrigue and surprising plot twists, Much Ado About Nothing is the ultimate screwball comedy, a precursor to those famous movies of the ’30s and ’40s.

Starring as the witty sparring partners are Oklahoma Shakespeare Executive Producer, Tyler Woods as Benedick and Amanda Lee who was recently seen as Vanda in Venus in Furs as Beatrice. Bell Reeves plays Hero and Joseph Hoffman plays Claudio.   The rest of the cast includes Joseph Mann as Don Pedro, Regan Rodgers as Don John, David Fletcher-Hall as Leonato, Jimmy Pike as Antonio/Verges, Tyler Malinauskas as Dogberry, Tiffany Tuggle as Margaret/Watch, Joshua Murray as Borachio, Justin Marlow as Conrade and Ore Oseni as Ursula.

The creative team for Much Ado About Nothing includes scenic designer Edward Morris; costume designer Lloyd Cracknell; and properties designer Britney Atkins. The production stage manager is Courtney Miles.
